Supporting seniors in Sherborn, Massachusetts

 

 

The Friends of the Sherborn COA is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to raise 

charitable donations to enhance the Council on Aging (COA) programs and services for 

Sherborn seniors. 


Funds have been raised to help support COA program, which include: 


Lifetime Learning Series—the COA’s  multigenerational classes, which are offered in the 

Spring and the Fall.  Courses vary each semester and programs  have included 

Philosophy, American Song, Powering America’s Future, Digital Photography, the Art of 

Drawing and more.  Speakers include local experts, and the teaching staff of Wellesley 

College, New England Aquarium,  and Broadmoor Audubon Society. (This semester’s  

course schedule can be found under “Lifetime Learning”)  


Respite Care—Financial assistance to provide “in home care” will be provided to 

Sherborn families who are serving as primary caregivers for senior family members.  This 

will provide the gift of time to a husband, a wife, son or daughter who need some well- 

deserved “me” time. 


Transportation—the Friends will provide transportation vouchers for Sherborn seniors 

who may needs some financial assistance in paying for transportation services either 

locally or for medical transportation to Boston.
